Mesopotamian Mythic Beasts
Ancient monsters, sacred creatures, and mythic guardians of Mesopotamia.
Dragons, demons, guardians, and the creatures of the earliest mythic worlds
Mesopotamian mythology contains some of the earliest recorded descriptions of mythic creatures.
These beings often represent chaos, protection, or divine authority, appearing in both myth and early symbolic art.
From primordial monsters to protective figures placed at the gates of cities, these creatures reflect a world shaped by both fear and order.
