SAMHAIN
And in that long exhale of autumn—
the old boundary weakens.
A.k.a: The Witch’s New Year [October 31 – November 1]
The veil thins,
And the dead remember the way home.
What This Night Is
Samhain is the hinge of the year.
Not the end.
Not the beginning.
The turning.
It marked the final harvest, the descent into winter,
and the dangerous crossing between the living world and the dead.
Fires burned to ward off wandering spirits.
Masks were worn to confuse what wandered too close.
Offerings were left at thresholds—
for ancestors, for gods, for things less easily named.
Because on this night, the unseen presses closer.
And not everything knocking is family.
